Practical Photography POTY final

It's all down to the judges now! Today was deadline day for me and the other five photographers shortlisted for this years top prize.

Our brief was to shoot a self portrait. Not quite as easy as it sounds. Yes the self timer did come in handy, but the tricky bit was deciding what elements of me do I focus on (forgive the pun)

I had a number of ideas. Most of them trying too hard to fit in everything about me. I needed to simplify what my essence is, so I settled on what I think about most of the time and wish I was doing most of the time. Taking and making photos! Pretty obvious to me now, but it took a lot of working out! I love swimming, but when I'm in the pool, I'm thinking about what to take photos of! Had to be me making photos really.

Fingers crossed again!
